Family-owned Flanders Electric Motor Service Expands in Vanderburgh County
VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (July 24, 2015) - The Vanderburgh County Council and economic development partners at the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville are pleased to announce that Flanders Electric Motor Service Inc. a family-owned company specializing in motor manufacturing and repair, will expand its production operations in greater Evansville.
Currently employing 436 workers, Flanders Electric Motor Service Inc. will add 30 new jobs in the next 2 years with an average wage rate of approximately $28.00/hour plus benefits. Of these new jobs 58% require a high school diploma, 25% require a 2-year degree and 17% require a 4-year degree.
Located on Baumgart Road, Flanders Electric Motor Service Inc. will expand production by installing new testing equipment, upgrading and improving manufacturing cells and equipment, as well as upgrading utilities/power and improving the facility.
The company plans to invest approximately $950,000 to upgrade their infrastructure and approximately $2,840,000 in new manufacturing, logistic and IT upgrades within the next 2 years. The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville has recommended an incentive package that includes a 10 year tax phase-in on the real estate improvements and personal property purchased within the first 2 years. The Vanderburgh County Council will confirm/deny the resolution for Flanders tax phase-in request at its regular meeting on July 27, 2015.
The positive economic impact generated from this project for Vanderburgh County totals in excess of$111,239,857/year or $1.1 billion over the next 10 years.
