Southwest Indiana Counties Band Together for Improved Broadband

Economic development teams from Vanderburgh, Gibson and Posey Counties have joined forces to bring awareness to the need for improved broadband infrastructure in rural areas of each county. To help make the case for increased broadband infrastructure in southwest Indiana, please complete a quick online survey at southwestindiana.org/broadband concerning your high-speed internet service, or lack of service.

Q3 Activity Update - View our Report

In Q3 we continued outreach visits to established companies in Evansville and Vanderburgh County.  We hired a new director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship focusing on growth and engagement, planning and development of the makerspace at Innovation Pointe. We facilitated the approval process for 2 new shell buildings in the Vanderburgh Industrial Park that will aid in our attraction of new companies, and more!

Evansville Startups Advance to Statewide Innovation Showcase

Hosted for the 3rd year, the Regional Pitch Competition is an opportunity for companies to share their 5-minute pitches before community members, potential investors, and a panel of judges. Evansville startup, HELIPONIX©, won the Evansville Regional Pitch Competition hosted at Innovation Pointe for their HELIPONIX© GROPOD™ invention; the first fully automatic growing device for all types of herbs. Also impressing the judges, Safekeeping App snagged 2nd place for their integrated healthcare communication app for residents, families and caregivers in long term care facilities.

EFP Corporation Expands into Vanderburgh County

EFP Corporation, a leading manufacturer and converter of expanded foam protective packaging, announced plans today to locate its 4th U.S. manufacturing location in the Vanderburgh Industrial Park, creating 29 new jobs by 2020. Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, EFP has locations in Decatur, Alabama, La Vergne, Tennessee and now Evansville, Indiana providing coverage to mid-America from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.

EVSC Work-Based Learning Program Accepts 80 Students

Today, 80 Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation students were accepted into RAMP, a first-of-its-kind comprehensive work-based learning program in Indiana. The program will embed high school students within Evansville-based industry, AmeriQual, LLC beginning fall 2019.

Evansville Ranks #1 Hottest City for Young Millennials

To figure out where 20- to 29-year-olds are buying the most homes, Realtor.com calculated where they took out the highest percentage of mortgages in 2018** in the 200 largest metropolitan areas. The ranking was limited to one metro per state to ensure geographic diversity and our Evansville, Indiana ranked #1 on the list.
