One year ago, the historic assisted living facility at 1320 SE Second Street known as the Rathbone, announced its closing. Today, City leaders are excited to announce plans to renovate the Rathbone into 58 modernized multifamily apartment units – with banquet space and a rooftop lounge – will move forward.
The event will begin with 60 second elevator pitches from each company. Judges will then select finalists to present 5 minute pitches. One winner will receive a $1200 prize package from Gutwein Law for free legal services and move on to the Venture Club of Indiana’s Innovation Showcase at INX in Indianapolis in September– competing for a $100k prize package and priceless exposure to Indiana’s angel and venture investor communities.Read more »

Vanderburgh County Commissioners gathered for a groundbreaking today, announcing the construction of a new 100,000 square-foot shell building situated on 12.15 acres in the Vanderburgh Industrial Park. Once complete, the adaptable structure will aid in the attraction of new businesses wanting to act fast and move quickly into a new building adequately fit to modern building codes.Read more »
EnCom Polymers, Inc., a rapidly growing custom compounder of high performance polymers serving multiple industries, announced plans today to expand its headquarters here by integrating volume from out-of-state production locations to Evansville, creating 56 new jobs by 2021. The privately-owned business will invest more than $14.9 million to purchase and upgrade the 58,000-square-foot building at 4825 N. Sprint St. in Evansville that it is currently leasing.Read more »
Friday, July 6th, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, the Vanderburgh County Commissioners and the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse Foundation are hosting the “Bicentennial Birthday Bash” on the grounds of the Old Courthouse. Funded through a community crowdsourcing grant headed, by the Franklin Street Events Association and the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, nearly $60,000 was raised to purchase the trolley, affectionately referred to as TED (Trolley of Evansville Districts). TED arrived in February, and he is getting ready for his big debut this weekend, with a new vinyl wrap job from Signarama Evansville, sponsored by Lefler Collision and Glass.Read more »
