What is a microcontroller and how does it work? Microcontrollers are small computers that can control devices, monitor inputs and use the information to control other devices A good example is a TV’s microcontroller. It takes input from a remote control and delivers its output on the TV screen.

What is Arduino microcontroller board? Arduino consists of both a physical programmable circuit board (often referred to as a microcontroller) and a piece of software, or IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that runs on your computer, used to write and upload computer code to the physical board.

Who is this course for? This course is designed for beginners and would be of interest to anyone wanting to learn more about robotics, embedded systems, basic programming languages, and Bluetooth configuration.

About the instructor: Dan Dresselhaus is a “retired” Senior Product Engineer with AeroVironment Inc., which is a technology company at the intersection of drones, robotics, sensors, and software based out of California. A lifelong learner, Dan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, and a M.S. in Thermodynamics from Birmingham City University (England). Dan continues to consult on electrical, mechanical, and software engineering projects part-time for AeroVironment; he spends his summers operating rides at Holiday World and trying to score Burning Man tickets.
