TED: Trolley of Evansville Districts
All Aboard! THE (Soft) LAUNCH OF TED
Tuesday, May 1, 2018 — Funded through a community crowdsourcing grant headed, by the Franklin Street Events Association and the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, nearly $60,000 was raised by the community to purchase the trolley, affectionately referred to as TED (Trolley of Evansville Districts). TED arrived in February, and he is getting ready for his big debut this weekend, with a new vinyl wrap job from Signarama Evansville, sponsored by Lefler Collision and Glass.
The TED route stops, and live-time geo-tracking is available on the DoubleMap App. This technology is currently utilized with METS and will be a large component of TED. With live time tracking, patrons shopping, dining, and enjoying the districts will be able to know exactly when TED will be at their destination.
Yearly passes may be purchased for $25 at Lamasco Bar and Grill & Franklin Street Tavern - additional locations for the passes will be available soon. All information can be found on the Facebook page, TED: Trolley of Evansville Districts. Without a pass, single rides are also available for $1 each way. TED is free to ride on Saturday day, and will eventually connect the two large playgrounds, Mickey’s Kingdom on the riverfront, and Stop Light City off West Franklin.

e is for everyone!
More than just a good time for residents and visitors, TED is a quality of life project that we believe will create economic opportunity, improve the quality of life and spur business activity and job creation within the cultural districts.
(10/10/2017) — BIG NEWS! The crowdsourcing campaign for TED: Trolley of Evansville Districts officially launched today. We, as a community, have 35 days to raise $25,000 to receive a matching $25k from the IHCDA!
Connecting our cultural districts | Enhancing our urban core | Growing our tourism industry
The hardwork behind TED is a collaborative effort between the Franklin Street Events Association and the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, to bring a much-needed piece of connectivity to support the vibrant and growing districts of Evansville. Our eventual plan is to have several TEDs for Evansville's neighborhoods, but to get this project off the ground we're going to need community support to get the first trolley rolling. *Stay tuned for an exciting announcement in the upcoming weeks regarding how you can help with funding.
What will be the cost to ride?
Two ways to ride the trolley: purchase a yearly pass for $25, OR pay $1 per ride, AND FREE on Saturday days!
When will the trolley run?
TED will run Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday day and night between the cultural districts.
SUMMER HOURS: Friday-Saturday only
Where will I get on the trolley?
There will be a set schedule for pick ups on Franklin, Main Street, Haynie's Corner, seasonal marina pick-ups, and the hotels (see map below). We are working with geotracking technology ON the trolley, as in real time to watch it's location. We will be in contact with Evansville MPO to add the trolley route to the existing DoubleMap App.
Is this a for-profit or community endeavor?
Fundraising for TED is a joint initiative between the Growth Alliance and the Franklin Street Events Association (FSEA). This trolley will run under the auspices of the nonprofit Franklin Street Events Association, however, it is for the entire community (not just that district). Once fundraising is complete, FSEA will take over long-term management of TED.
When will TED launch?
Our most sincere efforts behind the scenes this past year are finally coming together, and our hope is to launch Nov/Dec 2017.
Thank you for your interest in TED! Stay up-to-date with TED events and announcements by following the trolley's social accounts.
